We have a great opportunity to get involved in outreach in Point Pleasant. Bill Hart and his wife Kristen, residents of Point Pleasant Borough, have began a food drive for families in Point Pleasant who are in need in Cooperation with the Ocean Road Elementary PTO Crisis Fund.
With the help of the Point Pleasant school system, they were able to come up with around 95 children who are in need during the summer months, until these children can begin receiving school lunches once again the Fall.
Bill has asked if our church plant would be interested in hosting a small food drive for these children. These are the items they are still looking for:
- Boxed Cereal
- Granola bars
- Pancake Mix
- Pasta and tomato sauce
- Mac Cheese
- Canned fruits in juice (not syrup)
- Peanut Butter/Jelly
OR you can make a CASH/CHECK donation to:
Ocean Road Elementary PTO - (in the "FOR" line) - Crisis Fund / Let's Eat
More schools are getting involved, and there will be a meeting soon to see if they could get this program to be city-wide, so the needs will only be increasing. I told them that we are willing to not only donate but also volunteer in any way we can, so we will be hearing back soon about that.
Would you please consider purchasing some of these items for donation, or making a cash/check donation? You also can give to this Food Drive online. Click here to do so.
